While Apple confirmed the release of AI support for iPhones next week, Samsung announced on October 24 that its Galaxy AI will start supporting Traditional Chinese by the end of this month, taking the lead over Apple in supporting AI features in Chinese.
It is reported that users will be able to use Samsung’s Traditional Chinese AI features after downloading the language pack in settings. The features include translation assistant, real-time call translation, instant message translation, social media drafting, voice-to-text smart assistant, webpage summarization assistant, and smart reply suggestions.
On Apple’s end, the company has recently rolled out iOS 18.1 Release Candidate (RC) versions to developers and public testers. This preview version comes equipped with AI features, indicating that the official release is imminent. Based on feedback from the preview, iOS 18.1’s AI capabilities will be available only on iPhone 15 Pro/Pro Max and the entire iPhone 16 series.
