Synopsys, an American EDA tool supplier, is optimistic about Vietnam and expects the country's integrated circuit design industry to continue to grow.
NVIDIA CEO Huang Renxun previously stated during a meeting with Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Myung jung that he plans to invest $250 million in Vietnam; Earlier, US President Biden visited Vietnam with a delegation in September 2023 to promote cooperation in the semiconductor field. It is expected that more semiconductor companies and their executives will visit Vietnam in the future.
Synopsys announced in September 2023 that it will establish a global design center in Vietnam and collaborate with the Vietnam Information and Communication Technology Industry Authority (AICTI) to promote semiconductor development in Vietnam. The organization is drafting a semiconductor strategy that will use Synopsys prototype design and simulation technology to optimize the software and hardware design of on-chip systems.
Robert Li, chairman and president of Synopsys in Taiwan, China, and vice president of sales in Taiwan, China, Southeast Asia and India, said that Vietnam can follow Taiwan, China and other successful examples without starting from scratch. Synopsys has launched various training programs around Vietnam, which will help new employees seamlessly integrate into the company and contribute to the company.
