The economic department of Taiwan, China announced the industrial production index of the region in November 2023. Affected by the weak global terminal demand, the industrial production index was 92.19, with an annual decrease of 2.48%; The manufacturing production index was 92.38, a year-on-year decrease of 2.18%, with 18 consecutive months of negative year-on-year growth, setting a record for the longest recession in history.
Statistics show that Taiwan, China's electronic parts production index in November was 93.68, a year-on-year decrease of 3.35%. The economic department of the region said that the demand for terminal consumer electronics products was weak, which prolonged the supply chain inventory adjustment cycle. The production of categories such as wafer foundry, IC carrier boards, IC packaging, optoelectronic materials and components has declined, but the IC design industry has achieved year-on-year growth due to a lower base in the same period last year.
The production index of Taiwan, China's computer electronic products and optical products industry reached 126.69, a new record, with a year-on-year growth of 14.01%, mainly benefiting from the strong demand for cloud data centers, artificial intelligence (AI) and other applications, as well as the growth of international orders. The growth in the field of optics is due to the increasing demand for cameras in products such as smartphones.
From January to November 2023, Taiwan, China's industrial and manufacturing production indexes fell 13.22% and 13.65% year on year respectively.
